My state, my manner, and my attire have changed beyond recognition.
My state and manner have become unrecognizable,
And the record of my sins lies folded within my pages.
And my sins spread across folded pages.
وماليand I have no سوىexcept ذليmy humility ببابكat Your door حجةa plea
ومالي سوى ذلي ببابك حجة
الهيmy God وانيand indeed I فيin فنائكYour courtyard مرميcast down
الهي واني في فنائك مرمي
And I have no plea but my humility at Your door.
I have no argument at your door except my misery—
O my God, I am indeed cast down in Your courtyard.
My God, here I am, cast onto your courtyard.
اذاwhen ماemphatic particle انتهىcomes to an end عمريmy life امتنيmake me die موحداaffirming God's oneness
اذا ما انتهى عمري امتني موحدا
علىin accordance with الملةthe faith السمحاءthe tolerant بابرunclear spelling; likely 'O Beneficent One' ياحيO Ever-Living
على الملة السمحاء بابر ياحي
When my life ends, let me die affirming Your oneness,
When my life runs out, let me die professing
In the tolerant faith, O Beneficent One, O Ever-Living.
