ياO مونسcomforter الغرباthe strangers ياO ملجأrefuge الضعفاthe weak
يا مونس الغربا يا ملجأ الضعفا
ياO منyou who تجليتyou manifested yourself فيin برهانa proof لاهوتdivinity
يا من تجليت في برهان لاهوت
O comforter of strangers, O refuge of the weak,
O consoler of strangers, O refuge of the weak
O you who shone forth in a proof of divinity.
O manifestation of divinity in proofs
قصدتI sought ظلكyour shade ياO منyou who نينويNineveh شرفتyou honored
قصدت ظلك يا من نينوي شرفت
وفيكand through you غاليrivaled in worth ثراهاher soil كلevery ياقوتruby
وفيك غالي ثراها كل ياقوت
I sought your shade, O you who honored Nineveh,
I sought your shade, O Nineveh, you were ennobled
and through you her soil rivaled every ruby in worth.
With precious gems in you every ruby is insignificant
أدركcome to the aid of بقربكthrough your nearness منto مولاكyour Lord ياO سنديmy support
أدرك بقربك من مولاك يا سندي
ضعفيmy weakness فإنيfor I لكربيbecause of my anguish هاجرforsaking قوتيmy sustenance
ضعفي فإني لكربي هاجر قوتي
Relieve, through your nearness to your Lord, O my support,
Attain through your nearness from your Master, O my support
my weakness, for in my anguish I forgo my food.
My weakness, for indeed, because of my suffering, my strength has fled
عسىmay بفضلكthrough your grace أنجوI escape منfrom بلايmy affliction كماjust as
عسى بفضلك أنجو من بلاي كما
نجيتyou were saved ياO سيديmy master منfrom بلعةa gulp الحوتthe whale
نجيت يا سيدي من بلعة الحوت
May I, through your grace, escape my affliction, just as
I hope that through your grace I may be saved from my afflictions as
you were saved, O my master, from the whale's gulp.

وكل حزبك أصحاب المكارم يا
بحرsea المراحمmercies بلrather ياO خيرbest منعوتone praised
بحر المراحم بل يا خير منعوت
and bless all your followers, people of noble virtues, O
And upon all your party, the people of nobility, O
sea of mercies—nay, O best of those praised!
