The gate to attaining the outpouring of Taha, the Guide,
The door to the abundance of Taha Al-Hadi
is the gate of Junayd, the Baghdadi gnostic.
The door to Al-Junayd the Gnostic of Baghdad
شيخmaster الطريقةof the spiritual path والحقيقةand Reality والهدىand guidance
شيخ الطريقة والحقيقة والهدى
وامامand imam سادةmasters قادةleaders الاسيادof the lords
وامام سادة قادة الاسياد
Master of the Path, of Reality, and of guidance,
The Sheikh of the path, reality and guidance
and imam of masters, the leaders of lords.
And the Imam of the masters of masters
بحرa sea تموجsurged بالمعارفwith spiritual knowledge وارتقىand ascended
بحر تموج بالمعارف وارتقى
متنthe crest الفخارof glory بهمةwith resolve وسدادand rectitude
متن الفخار بهمة وسداد
A sea that surged with knowledge and ascended
An ocean swirling with gnosis that transcended
the crest of glory through resolve and rectitude.
The clay vessel with determination and integrity
وعلىand rose بطورin a state احمديAhmadian مدhe extended فيalong
وعلى بطور احمدي مد في
نهجthe way السلوكof spiritual wayfaring مسالكpaths الاسعادof bringing felicity
نهج السلوك مسالك الاسعاد
And he rose in an Ahmadian state, laying out along
And atop the Ahmadi hill he extended
the way of spiritual wayfaring paths to felicity.
The path of conduct, the ways to fortune
علقتclung بذيلto the hem طريقهof his path اهلpeople النهىof discernment
علقت بذيل طريقه اهل النهى
منfrom among خلصthe elect الابدالthe Abdals (substitute saints) والافرادand the Solitaries (singular saints)
من خلص الابدال والافراد
People of discernment clung to the hem of his path,
The people of denial clung to the tail of his path
from among the elect of the Abdals and the Solitaries.
The sincere saints and individuals
وتمسكواand they held fast بشريفto the noble مذهبهhis teaching فهمso they are
وتمسكوا بشريف مذهبه فهم
اتباعهhis followers فيin منهجthe way الارشادof guidance
اتباعه في منهج الارشاد
And they held fast to his noble teaching, and so are
And they held fast to his noble doctrine so they are
his followers on the path of guidance.
His followers in the path of guidance
فتحhe opened الكنوزthe treasuries المغلقاتthe sealed ones عنconcerning المعاthe meanings (word begins)
فتح الكنوز المغلقات عن المعا
ني(completes 'meanings') الغامضاتthe obscure ones وحلand an undoing للارصادof the talismanic wards
ني الغامضات وحل للارصاد
He opened the sealed treasuries of meanings
He opened the locked treasures about the meanings
that were obscure, and undid the talismanic wards.
The ambiguous and solved the unknown
واتىand he came باحكامwith the precepts الطريقof the spiritual path مؤيداupholding
واتى باحكام الطريق مؤيدا
شرعthe law الرسولof the Messenger بصحةthrough the soundness الاسنادof transmission
شرع الرسول بصحة الاسناد
And he brought the precepts of the Path, upholding
And he came with the rules of the path, supporting
the Messenger's law through sound transmission.
The Prophet's law with authentic chains
وأقامand he raised جدرانthe walls الحقيقةof Reality فيamong الورىhumankind
وأقام جدران الحقيقة في الورى
بيدwith the hand الكمالof perfection لحاضرfor a townsman ولبادand for a nomad
بيد الكمال لحاضر ولباد
And he raised the walls of Reality among humankind,
And he erected the walls of reality in the world
with perfection's hand, for townsman and nomad.
With the hand of perfection for the present and ruins
سلطانa sultan عرفانof gnosis يلاذrefuge is sought بظلهin his shade
سلطان عرفان يلاذ بظله
فيin حالةthe state الاصدارof sending forth والايرادand bringing in
في حالة الاصدار والايراد
A sultan of gnosis, in whose shade refuge is sought
The sultan of gnosis takes shade under it
in times of sending forth and bringing in.
In the state of issuing and income
وامامand an imam برهانof proof يصالbattle is waged بسيفهwith his sword الthe (article before 'sacred')
وامام برهان يصال بسيفه ال
قدسيsacred عندat هجومthe onslaught كلof every معادfoe
قدسي عند هجوم كل معاد
And an imam of proof, with whose sword battle is waged—
And the imam of proof who hits with his
a sacred sword—at the onslaught of every foe.
Holy sword when any hostile attacks
طارتtook wing مآثرهhis noble deeds وسيرةand the tale فضلهof his bounty
طارت مآثره وسيرة فضله
الفياضoverflowing فيthrough الاغوارthe lowlands والانجادand the uplands
الفياض في الاغوار والانجاد
His noble deeds took wing, as did the tale of his bounty,
His exploits and the tale of his virtue flew
overflowing, through the lowlands and the uplands.
Abundantly in the valleys and highlands
لاmay not زالcease مشهدهhis shrine الكريمthe noble معطراperfumed
لا زال مشهده الكريم معطرا
ونداهand his dew (bounty) هطالاpouring abundantly علىupon القصادthe seekers
ونداه هطالا على القصاد
May his noble shrine remain ever fragrant,
His noble tomb remains fragrant
and his dew pour abundantly upon those who seek him.
And his call showers upon the goals
