1. صباح خير توسلنا لبارينا

    فيه بسيدنا المختار هادينا

    A morning of goodness: we entreated our Creator,

    that morning, through our chosen master, our guide.

  2. عمت عناياته صحرا مواطننا

    وشمس أنواره قد أشرقت فينا

    His care encompassed the desert reaches of our dwellings,

    and the sun of his lights has risen among us.

  3. لذنا بأعتابه العليا بلا حول

    عنها وصغنا بمعناه معانينا

    We sought refuge at his exalted thresholds, without turning

    away from them, and shaped our meanings through his meaning.

  4. وقد قصدناه وهو الغوث للدنف ال

    مسكين والغي إن تظمأ نواحينا

    We have sought him, and he is succor for the ailing, the

    destitute, and [rain] if our regions thirst.

  5. جئناه والخوف راع القلب طارقه

    وقد علمناه كافينا ووافينا

    We came to him while fear's visitation startled the heart,

    and we knew he suffices us and is faithful to us.

  6. وقد لجأنا لعليا عزه وبلا

    شك محمدنا المحمود حامينا

    And we took refuge in his lofty glory, and without

    doubt, our Muhammad, the praised one, is our protector.

  7. مدت إليه أيادينا على وجل

    منا فاغرق بالإحسان نادينا

    Our hands were stretched out to him in fear

    on our part; then he flooded our gathering with kindness.

  8. ها نحن جيرانه في كل زاوية

    من الوجود وإن تبعد أراضينا

    Here we are, his neighbors in every corner

    of existence, even if our lands are far away.

  9. ونحن خدامه في العالمين فإن

    قمنا بذنب بغفران يكافينا

    And we are his servants throughout the worlds; if

    we commit a sin, he requites us with forgiveness.

  10. وإن تكدر منا الفكر عن أمل

    صعب بآمالنا والقصد يرضينا

    And if our thought grows troubled over a hope

    hard to attain, he satisfies us in our hopes and purpose.

  11. وإن يمت قلبنا في طي حالتنا

    بنظرة مع حسن الحال يحيينا

    And if our heart dies in the folds of our condition,

    with a glance and a goodly state, he brings us to life.

  12. وإن رددنا عن الأبواب جملتها

    بباه رحمة منه يحيينا

    And if we are turned away from the doors, every one,

    at [his door], through mercy from him, he brings us to life.

  13. والداءان عم فينا والشفا عسرت

    أسبابه بالتفات منه يشفينا

    And [if illness] spreads among us, and healing's

    means prove difficult, with a turn of attention from him he heals us.

  14. وإن بعدنا عن الخيرات وانقطعت

    حبال أعمالنا للَه يدنينا

    And if we stray far from good deeds, and there are severed

    the cords of our works, he draws us near to God.

  15. هو العطوف علينا والرؤوف إذا

    ضاق الخناق وراعتنا أعادينا

    He is tender toward us, and compassionate when

    the noose tightens and our enemies terrify us.

  16. هو الحريص علينا إن نذل وحا

    شا أن نذل ومولى الخلق راعينا

    He is solicitous for us if we are humbled—and far

    be it that we be humbled while the master of creation is our guardian.

  17. نحن انتمينا إلى أعتاب عزته

    مع الإساءة راعينا يراعينا

    We have attached ourselves to the thresholds of his glory;

    despite our wrongdoing, our guardian watches over us.

  18. أحاط فضلاً بنا واللَه أيدنا

    به فاكرم قاصينا ودانينا

    He graciously encompassed us, and God strengthened us

    through him, and thus honored those of us far and near.

  19. فزنا به وسعدنا في محبته

    لما دعانا له بالغيب داعينا

    Through him we prevailed and found happiness in loving him,

    when our caller summoned us to him in the unseen.

  20. هو الملاذ إذا ما خاف خائفنا

    ما خاب في بابه واللَه راجينا

    He is the refuge whenever the fearful among us feel fear;

    by God, those of us who hope at his door are never disappointed.

  21. نحمي به من ملمات الزمان ومن

    كل المصائب فيه اللَه ينجينا

    Through him we shield ourselves from time's calamities, and from

    every misfortune; through him God delivers us.

  22. أوقاتنا فيه طابت والزمان صفا

    لنا بنفحته إذ ذاك كافينا

    Our times in him grew sweet, and time grew clear

    for us through his breeze, for he suffices us.

  23. نرجو بدولته العليا وكل يد

    بيضا ونصلح في إحسانه الدينا

    We hope through his exalted dominion and every hand

    white with bounty, and through his goodness we set the faith right.

  24. صلى عليه إله العرش ما لمعت

    أنواره وزهت فيها بوادينا

    May the God of the Throne bless him as long as there shine

    his lights, and our desert lands flourish within them,

  25. وآله والصحاب الطيبين ومن

    صاروا بنسبته غرا ميامينا

    and his family, and the good companions, and those

    who became radiant and blessed through their connection to him,

  26. والتابعين لهم والمخلصين إلى

    إن يستجيب العظيم الوهب داعينا

    and their followers, and the sincere, until

    the One great in bounty answers our supplicant.
