الهي يد التقدير قادت ازمتي

الى الذنب حتى كان وهو عظيم

My God, the hand of decree has led my reins

My God, the hand of divine decree led my reins

Toward sin, until it grew—and it was grave.

to sin, until it came to pass—and it is grave.

فخذ بيد التوفيق قلبي للتقى

فخذ بيد التوفيق قلبي للتقى

فعفوك مأمول وانت كريم

فعفوك مأمول وانت كريم

Then take my heart, by the hand of divine aid, toward piety;

So, with the hand of divine aid, lead my heart to piety;

For Your pardon is my hope, and You are generous.

for Your pardon is hoped for, and You are generous.

وانى اليك الهاشمي وسيلتي

وانى اليك الهاشمي وسيلتي

نبي بكل المؤمنين رحيم

نبي بكل المؤمنين رحيم

And to You, the Hashimite is my means of approach—

And indeed, the Hashimite is my means of drawing near to You:

A prophet merciful to every believer.

a prophet compassionate toward all believers.

وفضلك ممدود اليه وانني

وفضلك ممدود اليه وانني

الى فضلك الطامي النوال عديم

الى فضلك الطامي النوال عديم

Your favor extends to him; and as for me,

And Your bounty is extended to him, and I

Before Your favor, overflowing with gifts, I am destitute.

am in need of Your bounty, overflowing with gifts.

بجودك اتحفني ببرك داوني

بجودك اتحفني ببرك داوني

فقلبي في صدق الدعاء سليم

فقلبي في صدق الدعاء سليم

By Your generosity, favor me; by Your goodness, heal me,

With Your generosity, bestow gifts upon me; with Your kindness, heal me.

For my heart, sincere in supplication, is sound.

For my heart is pure in sincere supplication.
