You are the Prophet—no falsehood.

You are the Prophet, no lies,

You are the son of Abd al-Muttalib.

خذ بيدي علي إلى ال

خذ بيدي علي إلى ال

قصد بخير انقلب

قصد بخير انقلب

Take me by the hand; perhaps to the

Take my hand Ali to the

right course I may return with goodness.

Intended good turned back.

وداو قلبي بالهدى

وداو قلبي بالهدى

إني إليك أنتسب

إني إليك أنتسب

And heal my heart with guidance.

Cure my heart with guidance,

Indeed, I claim kinship with you.

I claim descent from you.

حاشاك أن ترد من

حاشاك أن ترد من

أضحى عليك ينحسب

أضحى عليك ينحسب

Far be it from you to turn away one

Far it from you to turn away one

who has come to be counted as yours.

Who sacrificed himself for you.

وقد أتاك راجياً

وقد أتاك راجياً

فيض نداك المنسكب

فيض نداك المنسكب

And he has come to you, hoping for

And he came to you hoping

the flood of your streaming bounty.

For your overflowing gifts.

وقد دعاك خائفاً

وقد دعاك خائفاً

بلهف قلبٍ مضطرب

بلهف قلبٍ مضطرب

And he has called upon you in fear,

And he called you fearful,

with the anguish of a troubled heart.

With a anxious heart perturbed.

غوثاه يا سر الورى

غوثاه يا سر الورى

يا حاضراً متى ندب

يا حاضراً متى ندب

Help! O secret of creation!

Save him, O secret of existence,

O you who are present whenever invoked!

O present whenever called.

يا علم العز الذي

يا علم العز الذي

في الرفرف الأعلى نصب

في الرفرف الأعلى نصب

O banner of glory, which

O banner of might which

was raised in the highest canopy.

Was erected in the Highest Refuge.

وستر برهان على

وستر برهان على

خدر الخفايا قد ضرب

خدر الخفايا قد ضرب

And a veil of proof over

And veil of proof upon

the chamber of hidden mysteries has been drawn.

The hidden mysteries has been cast.

وسطر علم سره

وسطر علم سره

في لوح تظيم كتب

في لوح تظيم كتب

And a line of knowledge whose secret

And line of knowledge whose secret

was inscribed on a tablet of veneration [uncertain reading].

In a guarded tablet was written.

وملجأ عند البلا

وملجأ عند البلا

لدفعة الكرب طلب

لدفعة الكرب طلب

And a refuge in times of affliction,

And refuge in tribulation

sought to ward off anguish.

To dispel the sorrows sought.

أدرك فأنت المرتجي

أدرك فأنت المرتجي

والمستغاث المنثلب

والمستغاث المنثلب

Come to my aid, for you are the one hoped for,

Attend for you are the one hoped for

and the one whose help is sought, the reviled one [uncertain reading].

And the loudly pleading suppliant.

واملأ بفضل دلوا

واملأ بفضل دلوا

مالي إلى عقد الكرب

مالي إلى عقد الكرب

And fill with grace the bucket of

And fill with your bounty’s abundance

my hopes, up to the knot of its rope.

My hand toward the sorrows’ necklace.

وقل منحت ما تشا

وقل منحت ما تشا

فمن أتاك لم يخب

فمن أتاك لم يخب

And say, “I have granted what you wish.”

And say “I have granted what you wish

For whoever comes to you is not disappointed.

So whoever comes to you loses not”.

الوذ فيك دائماً

الوذ فيك دائماً

لكل هولٍ ملتهب

لكل هولٍ ملتهب

I seek refuge in you always,

And make me an abode with you always

against every blazing terror.

For every inflamed terror.

وأنت لي نعم الحمى

وأنت لي نعم الحمى

يا صاحب الصدر الرحب

يا صاحب الصدر الرحب

And you are an excellent sanctuary for me,

And you are for me an excellent guardian,

O you of the spacious breast.

O owner of the spacious breast.

أدعوك يا عين العمى

أدعوك يا عين العمى

أجب أجب أجب أجب

أجب أجب أجب أجب

I call upon you, O eye of blindness.

I call You, O eye of the blind,

Answer, answer, answer, answer!

Answer, answer, answer, answer.
