O homes when you see our old shaikh
And recall the varied forms of hidden longing.
And recall the hidden longing in various ways
وابذلand pour out بمتكينat Matkin الدموعtears فكمfor how often لهاfor it
وابذل بمتكين الدموع فكم لها
لصميمfrom the depths of وجدyearning قدindeed بكىwept الباكوناthe weepers
لصميم وجد قد بكى الباكونا
And pour out tears at Matkin—how often for it
And shed tears with sincere devotion - how much
Have the weepers wept from the depths of yearning!
The hearts in anguish have wept for him
ارضa land بصيادby the hunter of القلوبhearts تقدستwas sanctified
ارض بصياد القلوب تقدست
وغداand became حماهاits sanctuary نيراًradiant مأموناsecure
وغدا حماها نيراً مأمونا
A land made holy by the hunter of hearts,
The land where the hunter of hearts sanctified
And its sanctuary became radiant and secure.
Became protected by a safe river the next day
باللهby God ياO حاديdriver of النياقthe she-camels مدمدماmurmuring
بالله يا حادي النياق مدمدما
بالليلby night حيثwhere تسابقraced one another الساروناthe night-travelers
بالليل حيث تسابق السارونا
By God, O driver of the she-camels, murmuring
By Allah O leader of camels walking proudly
By night, where the night-travelers raced one another,
At night where the ponies compete
خلleave النياقthe she-camels وخذand take لديكwith you قلوبhearts of منthose who
خل النياق وخذ لديك قلوب من
بعثواthey sent forth الدموعtears منfrom العيونthe eyes عيوناsprings
بعثوا الدموع من العيون عيونا
Leave the she-camels and take with you the hearts of those
Leave the camels and take with you hearts that
Who sent forth tears from their eyes as springs.
Shed tears - eyes from eyes
وانزلand alight بهاwith them برحابin the courts of احمدAhmad وانتدبand call upon
وانزل بها برحاب احمد وانتدب
ذاكthat الهزبرthe lion حسامهاits sword المسنوناsharpened
ذاك الهزبر حسامها المسنونا
And alight with them in Ahmad's courts, and call upon
And descend with them to the sanctuary of Ahmed and appoint
That lion, its sharpened sword.
That praiseworthy sword his protected helper
فهوfor he is ابنson of ساداتmasters of الوجودexistence شبلlion cub of منthose who
فهو ابن سادات الوجود شبل من
قدindeed ايدواthey upheld المفروضthe obligatory duties والمسنوناand the prophetic practices
قد ايدوا المفروض والمسنونا
For he is the son of the masters of existence, the cub of those

Who indeed upheld the obligatory duties and the prophetic practices.
Those who supported the obligatory and recommended
لاmay not زالcease مرقدهhis resting place بفرقدby the bright star of ذاتهhis essence
لا زال مرقده بفرقد ذاته
يزهوshine in splendor وتقصدand make for رحبهits spacious court العافوناthe seekers of bounty
يزهو وتقصد رحبه العافونا
May his resting place, by the bright star of his essence, never cease
His tomb still, with his essence,
To shine in splendor, with seekers of bounty making for its spacious court.
