نحن قسمنا بينهم طاب قلبنا

نحن قسمنا بينهم طاب قلبنا

فقلب طبعاً عن جميع المآرب

فقلب طبعاً عن جميع المآرب

“We apportioned among them”—our heart grew content;

Our hearts we have divided amongst them

So, by nature, it turned away from every desire.

Of course, the heart from all desires

وسلم للموتى وآمن وانزوى

وسلم للموتى وآمن وانزوى

عن الكل والتسليم أحلى المشارب

عن الكل والتسليم أحلى المشارب

And it submitted to the dead, believed, and withdrew

And surrendered to death and had faith and secluded

From all; surrender is the sweetest of draughts.

From all and surrender is the sweetest of drinks

فطابت به الأوقات باللَه وانجلى

فطابت به الأوقات باللَه وانجلى

له كل عزم رغم أنف المحارب

له كل عزم رغم أنف المحارب

So through it the hours grew sweet with God, and there shone forth

So the times became good with Allah and clear

For it every resolve, in defiance of the adversary.

For it every determination despite the enemy's nose
