I complain to God the Almighty; and whoever brings

his complaint to God the Almighty is given aid.

Complains to God Almighty, He will help

فعساه يحسن بالعناية رحمة

فعساه يحسن بالعناية رحمة

وبفضله قد تجمع الاشعاث

وبفضله قد تجمع الاشعاث

So may He, in mercy, show kindness through His care,

Perhaps He will show mercy with care

and through His grace may scattered things be gathered.

And with His grace gather the scattered dust

الجسم مني عاجز عن حمله

والفكر نحو مأملي حثاث

والفكر نحو مأملي حثاث

My body is too weak to bear its burden,

My body is too weak to carry it

and my thought hastens toward my hope.

And my mind urges towards my hopes

وتزورني الايام وهي كأنها

وتزورني الايام وهي كأنها

والهف قلبي كلها اضغاث

والهف قلبي كلها اضغاث

And the days visit me, as though they were

—alas for my heart!—all tangled dreams.

Meaningless sorrows filling my heart

O Lord, through the Chosen One, relieve my distress;

O One, succor for the seeker of help!

O Only One who aids the desperate cry
