ظهرت يا سرّ المعاني

ظهرت يا سرّ المعاني

وقد ظهر سرك القديمْ

وقد ظهر سرك القديمْ

You have appeared, O secret of meanings.

You have appeared, O secret of meanings,

And your ancient secret has become manifest.

And your ancient secret has become manifest.

وهامَ قلبي إلى الأماني

وهامَ قلبي إلى الأماني

وكل هايم فيكْ يهيمْ

وكل هايم فيكْ يهيمْ

And my heart wandered in longing toward hopes.

My heart is infatuated with desires,

And every lovestruck one wanders in you.

And every infatuated one in you becomes lovesick.

ولاحَ نوره حقا عياني

ولاحَ نوره حقا عياني

سكن فؤادي سرُ العظيم

سكن فؤادي سرُ العظيم

And its light shone truly before my eyes.

Its light has truly become evident to me,

The secret of the Great One dwelt in my heart.

The great secret has settled in my heart.

يا من يلمني أقصر ملامك

يا من يلمني أقصر ملامك

أنا حبيبي فاق الملاحْ

أنا حبيبي فاق الملاحْ

O you who reproach me, curb your reproach.

O you who blames me for my shortcomings,

As for me, my beloved has surpassed the beautiful ones.

I am your beloved, exceeding the signs.

المزطارَي معدنُ الصلاحْ

المزطارَي معدنُ الصلاحْ

The shaykh of the path, my master Muhammad,

Sheikh of the Sufi order, my master Muhammad,

al-Maztari, a mine of righteousness.

Al-Maztari, essence of righteousness.

يا من يلمني في ذي الطريقه

يا من يلمني في ذي الطريقه

هذي اتتني عن الرجالْ

هذي اتتني عن الرجالْ

O you who reproach me for this path,

O you who blames me in this Sufi order,

This came to me from the men.

This has come to me from the men.

وكل مَنْ يعرفْ الحقيقه

وكل مَنْ يعرفْ الحقيقه

يسعى إليها بلا محالْ

يسعى إليها بلا محالْ

And everyone who knows the truth

And whoever knows the truth,

strives toward it without doubt.

Seeks it without fail.

يشربْ ويسقى إِلى رفيقه

يشربْ ويسقى إِلى رفيقه

من خمرها صافي كالزلالْ

من خمرها صافي كالزلالْ

He drinks and gives his companion

He drinks and offers his companion

some of its wine, pure as limpid water.

A drink from its wine, clear as running water.

أنا شربتهُ والخمرُ عندي

أنا شربتهُ والخمرُ عندي

لكل عاشق يهوى الملاحْ

لكل عاشق يهوى الملاحْ

I have drunk it, and the wine is with me

I have drunk it, and the wine is with me

for every lover who desires the beautiful ones.

For every lover who loves the signs.
