أنتم تُزَينوا المحالفْ
ياO لازمينْdevoted to خدمةَserving اللهGod
يا لازمينْ خدمةَ الله
You adorn the gatherings,
You adorn the sanctuaries
O you devoted to serving God.
O you who are devoted to God's service
فيكمthrough you قطَعتْI severed السلاسلْthe chains
فيكم قطَعتْ السلاسلْ
وسرتُand I journeyed فيكمْamong you عسىin hope اللهGod
وسرتُ فيكمْ عسى الله
Through you I severed the chains,
In you the chains have been broken
And I journeyed among you, hoping in God.
And in you I have walked, if God wills
شيلونيlift me ياO هلpeople of الدلايلْthe signs
شيلوني يا هل الدلايلْ
وتقربونيand bring me near إلىto اللهGod
وتقربوني إلى الله
Lift me up, O people of the signs,
Carry me O people of guidance
And bring me nearer to God.
And bring me nearer to God
بالهلgently زمواtake hold of عنانيmy reins
بالهل زموا عناني
لاdo not تقطعواcut الحبلَthe rope بيِّاon me
لا تقطعوا الحبلَ بيِّا
Gently take hold of my reins;
With gentleness, restrain my rein
Do not cut the rope that binds me.
Do not cut the rope with me
فيin حبكمْlove for you طولْthroughout زمانيmy lifetime
في حبكمْ طولْ زماني
ماdo you not ترقبواheed اللهGod فيِّاconcerning me
ما ترقبوا الله فيِّا
In love for you, throughout my lifetime—
In your love, prolong my time
Will you not heed God in your dealings with me?
Do not await God's wrath upon me
