The dawn of spiritual knowledge shone in the east of guidance.
The dawn of knowledge shone in the East of guidance
Say 'In God's name' over your cup as you begin this day.
With your cup today, the opening is inaugurated
يومa day تَنزهis exalted عنabove أيامdays عادتناَour routine

A day exalted above our ordinary days,
A day free from our usual days
And above late afternoon—you find it nothing but midmorning.
And from the original, so you will not find it except at dawn

If you would do it justice, cast off your bridle in
If you are fair to it, take off your excuse in
Its peerless time; never cease taking the morning draught.
Its singular time, you will not cease being early rising
واشربand drink وزَمْزِمْand hum ولاand do not تُلوِيpay heed علىto أحدanyone
ولاand do not تُعرِّجْturn aside علىfor منone who ذاقtasted ثُمَّthen صَحاgrew sober
And drink and hum, and pay no heed to anyone.
Drink and Zamzam and do not wrong anyone
And do not turn aside for one who tasted, then grew sober.
Nor deviate to one who has tasted then became sober

واجْعَلand make نديمكَyour drinking companion منinstead of أفكاركyour thoughts القدحاَthe cup
And sell your clothes for its crimson wine, out of passion.
Sell your clothes passionately in its alleys
And make the cup, rather than your thoughts, your drinking companion.
And make your drinking companion be your own thoughts
فانso if تجوهرتyou became a jewel فاشطحthen speak in ecstasy فالسكونfor stillness هناhere
لاينبغيis not fitting إِنماonly السكرانthe intoxicated one منone who شطحاspoke in ecstasy
So if you become a jewel, speak in ecstasy, for stillness here
So if you become refined, then ramble, for tranquility here
Is unfitting; only he who speaks in ecstasy is drunk.
Is not proper, but rather the intoxicated one from rambling
ياoh حبذاhow fine كلeveryone منwho أبديrevealed مواجدَهُhis ecstasies
وَلمْand did not يعربدbrawl وقالand spoke الحقَّthe truth وافتضحَاand was exposed
Oh, how fine is everyone who revealed his ecstasies,
O excellent is everyone who has shown his talents
And did not brawl, spoke the truth, and was exposed,
And did not talk nonsense and spoke the truth and was candid

And turned to sobriety after effacement, and unified were
And inclined to sobriety after oblivion and his
His accounts; and he came to cast duality aside.
News was united and he became laying down to intercede the next morning
وقُلْand say لمنto whoever جدَّwas earnest فيin نصحيadvising me فَديتُكَmay I be your ransom لاdo not

And say to whoever earnestly counsels me: 'May I be your ransom—do not
And say to whoever was serious in advising me, I ransom you, do not
Advise me, for I no longer listen to anyone who gives advice.'
Advise, for I have become not listening to one who gave advice
