My time and life became pleasant,

Since I have remained at one with my own self.

أنا إِنسانِي يهْواني

لم يَزَل معِي يَرعانِي

لم يَزَل معِي يَرعانِي

As for me, my human self loves me.

My human self that brings me down,

He has always been with me, watching over me.

Has not stopped being with me shepherding me,

وعنِ الفاني أفْنانِي

وعنِ الفاني أفْنانِي

وبِتخليقِي أوْقاتِي

وبِتخليقِي أوْقاتِي

And he effaced me from the perishable.

And turning me away from the vanishing,

And through my fashioning of my moments.

And with my creation occupying my time.

طَابت أوقاتي وحياتِي

With the wine of spirits to give me life,

فيها الأفْراح تأتيني

وتَزَل عني رَوَعاتي

وتَزَل عني رَوَعاتي

In it, joys come to me,

In it is happiness that comes to me

And my fears depart from me.

And takes away my fears from me.

وأنْت في بحْرِ الغفلات

يا عذولي روحْ كمَ تخْدَع

الفؤادْ مجْرُوح لم يسْمع

O my reproacher, go away—how much you deceive!

O crazed soul, how you are deceived,

The heart is wounded; it has not heard.

The heart is wounded it did not hear,

إِنْت ما فيك روح تتخدع

إِنْت ما فيك روح تتخدع

وتَهَيج نارْ شَهْواتِي

وتَهَيج نارْ شَهْواتِي

You have no soul to be deceived,

There is no soul in you that gets deceived,

And the fire of my desires flares up.

And provokes the fire of my desires.
