  1. إِن شئتَ أن تقروبْ

    قربَ الوصالِ

    If you wish to come close

    To the intimacy of union,

  2. هِمْ في هوى المحبوبْ

    ولا تبالي

    Then passionately yearn

    For the Beloved, and care not.

  3. إِن شئتَ أنْ تَرْقَى

    فخلي الأكوانْ

    If you wish to ascend,

    Then leave the universes behind,

  4. أفنى وزيد عشقا

    يكون لك الشانْ

    Become selfless and increase in love,

    Thus shall glory be yours.

  5. واتبعْ الحقَّا

    وارحل للميدان

    And follow the Truth,

    And set out for the arena,

  6. تنال ما تطلوبْ

    على الكمالِ

    You will attain what you seek

    To perfection.

  7. هِمْ في هوى المحبوبْ

    ولا تبالي

    Then passionately yearn

    For the Beloved, and care not.

  8. أنا الذي نَدْرِي

    هادي الطريقه

    I who know well

    The Guide of the way,

  9. سارت إلى سرِّي

    نورُ الحقيقه

    The light of Truth

    Journeyed to my innermost being.

  10. وهمت في سكري

    ولم أفِيقَه

    And in my intoxication

    I awakened not,

  11. ولذ لي المشروبْ

    شربه حَلالِي

    And the permitted drink

    Was sweet to me.

  12. هِمْ في هوى المحبوبْ

    ولا تُبالِي

    Then passionately yearn

    For the Beloved, and care not.

  13. الوصل يا محلاه

    والجهرِ مرْ

    O the bliss of union,

    And the open declaration of it!

  14. يا سعد يا بشراه

    مَنْ كان حرْ

    O the joyful news

    For the free!

  15. والغيرُ يا بلواه

    يهيمُ في غيرْ

    And O the misery

    For those still lost,

  16. لقد هَوَى المتعوبْ

    والغيرُ سالِي

    Wandering bewildered,

    While others are rejoined.

  17. هِمْ في هوى المحبوبْ

    ولا تبالِي

    Then passionately yearn

    For the Beloved, and care not.
