اسْمعُوا ذِي الحقائق

اسْمعُوا ذِي الحقائق

إِنَّ فيها ما يُسْمعْ

إِنَّ فيها ما يُسْمعْ

Listen to these truths;

indeed, in them is something to be heard.

كَيْفَ تخْفَى الْحقِيقهْ

كَيْفَ تخْفَى الْحقِيقهْ

وشَمْسُها تُشْعْشَعْ

وشَمْسُها تُشْعْشَعْ

How can the truth be hidden

while its sun shines brightly?

أشْرَقَتْ في سَنَاها

أشْرَقَتْ في سَنَاها

لم تُرَى قَطُّ تَغْرُبْ

لم تُرَى قَطُّ تَغْرُبْ

It shone forth in its radiance,

never seen to set,

وبدَتْ من علاها

وبدَتْ من علاها

لِلْقُلُوبْ كُلَّ موْهوبْ

لِلْقُلُوبْ كُلَّ موْهوبْ

and appeared from its heights

to the hearts of all the gifted.

ليْسَ يُنْكِرْ سَنَاها

ليْسَ يُنْكِرْ سَنَاها

إِلاَّ جاهِلْ ومحجوبْ

إِلاَّ جاهِلْ ومحجوبْ

None denies its radiance

but the ignorant and the veiled.

في صُدورِ الرِّجالْ

في صُدورِ الرِّجالْ

ثُمَّ تُطْوَى وتُرْفَعْ

ثُمَّ تُطْوَى وتُرْفَعْ

It is in the breasts of men,

then is folded away and raised up.

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الحقيقهْ

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الحقيقهْ

وشمسُها تُشَعْشَعْ

وشمسُها تُشَعْشَعْ

How can the truth be hidden

while its sun shines brightly?

رُدْ باللهْ يا مَطْبُوعْ

رُدْ باللهْ يا مَطْبُوعْ

واسْتَمِعْ مِنْ كلامي

واسْتَمِعْ مِنْ كلامي

Respond, by God, O gifted one,

and listen to some of my words,

حَتَّى نَسْقيكْ ونُرْويكْ

حَتَّى نَسْقيكْ ونُرْويكْ

مِن كُؤُوسِ الكرامِ

مِن كُؤُوسِ الكرامِ

so that I may give you drink and quench your thirst

from the cups of the noble,

ونُرَبِّيكْ في حِجْرِي

ونُرَبِّيكْ في حِجْرِي

حتَّى تَبْلُغْ مقامِي

حتَّى تَبْلُغْ مقامِي

and nurture you in my lap

until you reach my station.

تَرَى ما لَم تَرى قَطُّ

تَرَى ما لَم تَرى قَطُّ

وتُشاهدْ وتسْمَعْ

وتُشاهدْ وتسْمَعْ

You will see what you have never seen,

and witness and hear.

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الْحقِيقهْ

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الْحقِيقهْ

وشمْسُها تُشعْشَعْ

وشمْسُها تُشعْشَعْ

How can the truth be hidden

while its sun shines brightly?

اللهْ كانْ وبَقَى اللهْ

اللهْ كانْ وبَقَى اللهْ

ولاَ في الْمُلْكِ غَيْرُوا

ولاَ في الْمُلْكِ غَيْرُوا

God was, and God remains,

and in the realm there is none but Him.

وأشْ ما تَنْظُرْ بِعَيْنَكْ

وأشْ ما تَنْظُرْ بِعَيْنَكْ

بِهْ صَدَرْ وبأمْرُو

بِهْ صَدَرْ وبأمْرُو

And whatever you behold with your eye

came forth through Him and by His command.

مَنْ يُحَقِّقْ الأشْيَا

مَنْ يُحَقِّقْ الأشْيَا

كُلُّها عِنْدَ نَظَرُوا

كُلُّها عِنْدَ نَظَرُوا

Whoever truly discerns things,

all of them, in his contemplation,

يَرَاها الْكلَّ واحِدْ

يَرَاها الْكلَّ واحِدْ

ويُشاهِد ويسْمعْ

ويُشاهِد ويسْمعْ

sees them all as one,

and witnesses and hears.

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الْحَقيقهْ

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الْحَقيقهْ

وشمْسُها تُشعْشَعْ

وشمْسُها تُشعْشَعْ

How can the truth be hidden

while its sun shines brightly?

أنا مطبوعْ في قوْمِي

أنا مطبوعْ في قوْمِي

وأديبْ في مَقالِي

وأديبْ في مَقالِي

I am naturally gifted among my people,

and eloquent in my speech,

وفقيرْ ومُرْبىّ

وفقيرْ ومُرْبىّ

لِمَعانِي الرِّجالِ

لِمَعانِي الرِّجالِ

and a poor man and a nurturer

of the inner meanings of men.

وإِنْ كانْ أشْ تعرفونني

وإِنْ كانْ أشْ تعرفونني

سَلِّموا لِي حالِي

سَلِّموا لِي حالِي

And if you know anything of me,

allow me my state.

أنا باللهِ ننْطِقْ

أنا باللهِ ننْطِقْ

ومِنَ اللهِ نَسْمَعْ

ومِنَ اللهِ نَسْمَعْ

I speak through God,

and from God I hear.

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الحقيقهْ

كيْفَ تَخْفَى الحقيقهْ

وشمسُها تُشعْشعْ

وشمسُها تُشعْشعْ

How can the truth be hidden
