    يا بدرْ التمامْ

  4. قلَ لي كيف نطيقْ

    أصبر يا صديقْ

    To be patient, O friend?

  5. بفضلك يا نورْ عيني

    تكن لي رفيقْ

    By your grace, O light of my eye,

  6. أنا يا مديرَ الكاس

    أفناني الحبيبْ

    As for me, O cupbearer,

  7. زرني في دُوجَي العسعاسْ

    على غيظِ الرقيبْ

    To the watcher's chagrin.

  8. طاب الوقتُ ياجلاسْ

    وسمحَ ليّا الحبيبْ

    The moment has grown sweet, O companions,

    And the beloved has shown me grace.

  9. أنا هو العشقْ

    في بدرٍ شريقْ

    I am love itself

    In a radiant full moon.

  10. بفضلك يا نورْ عيني

    تَكُنْ لي رفيق

    By your grace, O light of my eye,
