1. لَيْلَى وَيَا لَيْلَى

    حزت الجمالَ وحدكْ

    Layla, and O Layla!

    You alone have claimed beauty.

  2. واشْ مِنْ عَقلي

    يبْقَى لِمنْ يَرى حسنكْ

    What of my reason

    Remains for one who sees your beauty?

  3. آه على حالي

    إِذا نغَيبْ غيبه

    Alas for my plight!

    When I am away for a spell,

  4. لا عيش يهنالي

    حتى نرى طيبه

    No life is pleasant to me

    Until I see Tayba,

  5. ونبلغ مرادي

    ونطوفُ بالكعبه

    And I attain my desire,

    And I circle the Kaaba.

  6. يا طلعةَ الزَهْري

    اسمك عزيز مكتوب

    O countenance of al-Zahri,

    Your precious name is inscribed.

  7. مهما نراك نبري

    وينجلي المكروب

    Whenever I see you, I am healed,

    And the afflicted one finds relief.

  8. يا نورَ نورِ النورْ

    يا صاحبَ الخاتمْ

    O light of the light of light,

    O bearer of the seal,

  9. أعطاكَ ربي النورْ

    سماك أبا القاسمْ

    My Lord gave you the light,

    He named you Abu al-Qasim.

  10. صلُّوا على الهادي

    صلُّوا عليه شوقا

    Send blessings upon the Guide;

    Send blessings upon him with longing.

  11. عزِّي وارشادي

    المصطفى حقا

    My glory and my guidance:

    The Chosen One, truly.
