ولماand when انتجعناwe sought provision لائذينseeking refuge بظلهin his shade
ولما انتجعنا لائذين بظله
أعانhe helped وماand did not عنىweary us ومنand who? وماand what? متىwhen?
أعان وما عنى ومن وما متى
When we sought his favor, taking refuge in his shade,
He helped, without wearying us with “who?”, “what?”, or “when?”
وردناand we came عليهto him مقترينimpoverished فراشناso he provided for us
وردنا عليه مقترين فراشنا
وردناand we came نداهto his generosity مجدبينin want وأخصبناand we prospered
وردنا نداه مجدبين وأخصبنا
We came to him impoverished, and he provided for us;
We came to his generosity in a barren state, and grew prosperous.
