الدهر يلعب بالفتى فيهيضه
طوراat times ويحبرand adorns (probably intended: mends) عظمهhis bone فيراشso he is feathered or supported
طورا ويحبر عظمه فيراش
Time toys with the young man, breaking him
At times, and mending his bone, so he is given wings.
وكذاand thus رأيناwe have seen الدهرTime فيin اعراضهits turning away
وكذا رأينا الدهر في اعراضه
ينحىcasts aside وفيand in إقبالهits turning toward يتناشtakes up
ينحى وفي إقباله يتناش
Thus we have seen Time: when it turns away,
It casts him aside; when it turns toward him, it takes him up.
