كَسانيhe clothed me وَلَمand did not استَكسِهِask him for clothing فَحَمَدتُهُso I praised him
أَخٌa brother لَكَto you يُعطيكَgives you الجَزيلَlavish gifts وَناصِرُand a supporter
He clothed me without my asking him for clothing, so I praised him—
a brother to you who gives you lavish gifts and comes to your aid.
وَأَنَّand indeed أَحَقَّmost deserving الناسِamong people إِنif كُنتَyou are حامِداًoffering praise
بِحَمدِكَof your praise مَنthe one who أَعطاكَgave to you وَالوَجهُwhile the face وافِرُremains intact
And surely the person most deserving, if you offer praise,
of your praise is one who gave to you while your face remained unsullied.
