أَمُفَنِّديO you who call me foolish فيfor حُبِّlove of آلِthe family of مُحَمَدٍMuhammad
أَمُفَنِّدي في حُبِّ آلِ مُحَمَدٍ
حَجَرٌa stone بفيكَin your mouth فَدَعso cease مَلامَكَyour reproach أَوor زِدِincrease it
حَجَرٌ بفيكَ فَدَع مَلامَكَ أَو زِدِ
O you who call me foolish for loving Muhammad’s family,
Shall I renounce the love of Muhammad's kin?
A stone in your mouth! Cease your reproach—or add more.
Leave me alone, or add more stones to pelt at me!
مَنwhoever لَمhas not يَكُنbeen بِحبالِهِمto their ropes مُتَمَسِّكاًholding fast
مَن لَم يَكُن بِحبالِهِم مُتَمَسِّكاً
فَليَعتَرِفthen let him acknowledge بِولاءِallegiance to مَنone who لَمhas not يَرشُدِfollowed the right way
فَليَعتَرِف بِولاءِ مَن لَم يَرشُدِ
Whoever has not held fast to their ropes,
He who does not hold fast to their ropes,
let him admit his allegiance to one who has not followed the right way.
Must admit allegiance to one who is not rightly guided.
