المَرءُa man يَسعىstrives ثُمَthen يُدرِكattains مَجدَهُhis glory
المَرءُ يَسعى ثُمَ يُدرِك مَجدَهُ
حَتّىuntil يُزَيَّنَhe is adorned بِالَّذيwith what لَمnot يَفعَلِhe did
حَتّى يُزَيَّنَ بِالَّذي لَم يَفعَلِ
A man strives, then attains his glory,
until he is adorned with deeds he never performed.
وَتَرىand you see الشَقيَّthe wretched man إِذاwhen تَكامَلَbecomes complete غيُّهُhis waywardness
وَتَرى الشَقيَّ إِذا تَكامَلَ غيُّهُ
يُرمىhe is charged وَيُقذَفand accused بِالَّذيof what لَمnot يَعمَلِhe did
يُرمى وَيُقذَف بِالَّذي لَم يَعمَلِ
And you see the wretched man, when his waywardness is complete,
charged and accused of deeds he never committed.
