You will not keep a brother if you do not
You are not one to abandon a brother, so
forgive whatever lapses he may make.
overlook whatever mistakes he might make.

Who is there whose character is flawless,
Who is so refined in character
whether he acts unhurriedly or in haste?
that he won’t err in haste or mistake?

I do not befriend the base traitor, nor
I won’t forsake a worthless traitor,
sever ties with a close friend because I tire of him.
nor sever a friend tired of my ways.

I repay him with kindness as long as I live, and never
I’ll repay good with good while I live,
does he lack my pardon for the evil in his deeds.
but won’t withhold forgiveness for his wrongs.
