سَلاَمٌpeace وأَولَىand the most fitting ماwhat يُسَيِّرُsends خَادِمٌa servant
سَلاَمٌ وأَولَى ما يُسَيِّرُ خَادِمٌ
لمولاَهُto his master إنْif عَزَّis difficult اللِّقَاءُmeeting سَلاَمُpeace
لمولاَهُ إنْ عَزَّ اللِّقَاءُ سَلاَمُ
Peace—and the most fitting thing a servant sends
Greetings, the best start for a servant
To his master, if meeting is difficult, is peace—
To his master when meeting is hard, greetings,
علَىupon سيِّدٍa lord لوif أدْرَكَbefell النَقْصُimperfection وَاحِداًanyone
علَى سيِّدٍ لو أدْرَكَ النَقْصُ وَاحِداً
سِوَاهُother than him منamong الأقْوَامِthe peoples فهوَthen he is تَمَامُperfection
سِوَاهُ من الأقْوَامِ فهوَ تَمَامُ
Upon a lord: should imperfection befall anyone
To a lord, if people's defects reached but one
Other than him among people, he is perfection itself.
Other than him, he is perfection.
