نُسَلِّمُ من بُعدِ الدِّيَارِ عَليكُمُ

نُسَلِّمُ من بُعدِ الدِّيَارِ عَليكُمُ

عَلَى أنَّ ما بينَ القُلُوبِ قَريبُ

عَلَى أنَّ ما بينَ القُلُوبِ قَريبُ

From far-off lands we send our greetings to you,

We send you greetings from distant dwellings,

though what lies between hearts is near.

Though what lies between our hearts is close.

فإنْ خَانَ في الوِدِّ امرؤٌ فَمَودَّتي

فإنْ خَانَ في الوِدِّ امرؤٌ فَمَودَّتي

عَليهَا لَكُمْ طُولَ الزَّمانِ رَقيبُ

عَليهَا لَكُمْ طُولَ الزَّمانِ رَقيبُ

Should anyone betray the bonds of love, then my affection

And if someone betrays affection, then my love

stands guard against such betrayal, for you, through all time.

Has a guardian watching over it for you for all time.

فإنْ جَفَّ مَاءُ القُرْبِ بَيني وبَينكُمْ

فإنْ جَفَّ مَاءُ القُرْبِ بَيني وبَينكُمْ

زَمَاناً فَهَا عُودُ الوَفَاءِ رَطيبُ

زَمَاناً فَهَا عُودُ الوَفَاءِ رَطيبُ

And if the water of closeness between you and me runs dry

And if the water of closeness between me and you dries up

for a while—behold, the bough of fidelity is green.

For a time, behold: the bough of fidelity is still moist.
