يا سيد الشهداء جعفر وافدٌ
فيwith حاجةٍa need وعليكand upon you عولhe relied فاقضهاso fulfill it
في حاجةٍ وعليك عول فاقضها
O master of martyrs, Ja'far has come as a visitor,
O master of martyrs, Jafar, a supplicant has come
With a need; he has relied on you, so fulfill it.
With a need, relying on you, so grant it
قدindeed ظنhe thought بيof me خيراًwell فحققso fulfill ظنهhis expectation
قد ظن بي خيراً فحقق ظنه
ورجايand my hope فيin سننcustomary practices الأمورmatters وفرضهاand their obligations
ورجاي في سنن الأمور وفرضها
He has thought well of me; make good his expectation,
He thought well of me, so fulfill his hopes
And my hope, in matters customary and obligatory.
My hope is in the ways of fate and its duties
