Your father cares nothing for this life;
Your father is unconcerned with life.
Your father cares not for life
Your father has become indifferent to life,
he cares not whether he lives or perishes.
He cares not whether he lives or perishes.
He minds not whether he lives or dies
He cares not whether he lives or perishes.

Once he longed for a life of ease—
He would have loved life in ease,
Once he loved life and its comforts
He would have desired a life of ease,
if only death’s vicissitudes had granted you respite.
had the vicissitudes of death granted you respite.
If only the days of death delayed him
Had the vicissitudes of death but spared you.
