دينُكَ أَعلى العُلوقِ علقا

دينُكَ أَعلى العُلوقِ علقا

إِيّاكَ بِالبَخسِ أَن تَبيعَه

إِيّاكَ بِالبَخسِ أَن تَبيعَه

Your faith is the most precious treasure one can possess;

Your faith is the most precious of all treasures.

Your religion is the highest of aspirations

Your faith is the most precious of all held treasures,

beware of selling it for less than its worth.

Beware of selling it for a paltry price.

Beware of underselling it

Beware lest you sell it for a trifling price.

صِراط ذي العَرشِ مُستَقيمٌ

صِراط ذي العَرشِ مُستَقيمٌ

مَن يَمشِ فيهِ يَكُن تَبيعَه

مَن يَمشِ فيهِ يَكُن تَبيعَه

The path of the Lord of the Throne is straight;

The path of the Lord of the Throne is straight.

The straight path of the Owner of the Throne

The path of the Possessor of the Throne is straight,

whoever walks it becomes its follower.

Whoever walks upon it becomes His follower.

Whoever walks it, his underselling will be

Whoever walks upon it becomes His follower.

وَاِحذَر مِنَ الدَهرِ طارِقات

وَاِحذَر مِنَ الدَهرِ طارِقات

لَم يَخلُ مِنها ذرى وَقيعَه

لَم يَخلُ مِنها ذرى وَقيعَه

Beware the calamities that time brings by night:

And beware of time's sudden calamities;

And beware of the blows of time

And be on guard against the sudden strikes of Time,

neither heights nor lowlands have escaped them.

Neither peak nor plain has been spared them.

No atoms are without its blows

From which not even the peaks of a rugged mountain are immune.

وَقائِع الدَهرِ فيَّ شَتّى

وَقائِع الدَهرِ فيَّ شَتّى

وَهذِهِ شَرُّها وَقيعَه

وَهذِهِ شَرُّها وَقيعَه

Time’s assaults upon me have been many and varied,

Time's calamities upon me are many and varied,

The blows of fate on me are diverse

The assaults of Time upon me are manifold,

and this is the worst of them in its impact.

And this is the worst calamity of them all.

And this is the worst of its blows

But this is the most wicked of them in its blow.
