شقَّrend القُلوبَthe hearts وَشُقهاand split them
شقَّ القُلوبَ وَشُقها
وَاِشرَقand choke بِدَمعٍon tears وَريقِand saliva
وَاِشرَق بِدَمعٍ وَريقِ
Rend the hearts and split them,
He split the hearts and split his own
Rend the hearts and tear them asunder,
and choke on tears and saliva.
And shone with tears and spittle
And choke upon your glistening tears,
أودىcarried off الأُفولُthe setting بِبَدرٍa full moon
أودى الأُفولُ بِبَدرٍ
عَلىupon قَضيبٍa branch وَريقِleafy
عَلى قَضيبٍ وَريقِ
Setting has carried off a full moon
Twilight did away with a full moon
For the setting has claimed a full moon,
upon a leafy branch.
On a rod and spittle
Atop a leafy bough.
