Pearls scattered from my tearful eyes;
Pearls scattered from my weeping eyes.
Pearls fell from my tears
Pearls scattered down from my weeping eyes,
whoever gathered them grew rich by them, while I was left impoverished.
Whoever picked them up grew rich, while I grew poor.
I grew rich from them though I was bereft
Enriching the earth, while he who gathered them found only poverty,

Truly, the dwellings where you once alighted are wilderness,
The dwellings I inhabited are indeed wastelands,
Homes I left to strangers
Truly, the abodes you have occupied are but a barren desert,
and any flock that wept with me would surely be sandgrouse.
And the flock that wept with me were indeed sandgrouse.
And migrating birds wept with me when I wept
And the flock that wept along with me was surely the sandgrouse.
