سُرورَ المُحِبِّ وَيا قوتَه
Infatuated, I imagined I might meet you, O
I dreamed, and I pined to meet you, O
I wandered, I wandered, to meet you, O
delight of the lover, O his sustenance,
the lover’s delight, and O his sustenance!
Joy of the lover, and O his sustenance,
وَإِنand even if غَيَّرَhas altered السقمُsickness مِنfrom وَجنَتَيthe two cheeks
وَإِن غَيَّرَ السقمُ مِن وَجنَتَي
كَyour دُرَّpearls الشَبابِof youth وَياقوتَهand its rubies
كَ دُرَّ الشَبابِ وَياقوتَه
though sickness has altered in your cheeks
And though sickness has altered, in the cheeks
And though sickness has altered upon your cheeks
the pearl and ruby of youth.
of yours, the pearls of youth and its rubies.
The pearl of youth and its ruby glow.
