رحَلْتُI departed وهَاand behold هُناhere مَثْوىresting place of الحبيبِthe beloved
رحَلْتُ وهَا هُنا مَثْوى الحبيبِ
فمنso who يَبْكِيكَwill mourn you ياO قبْرَgrave of الغَريبِthe stranger
فمن يَبْكِيكَ يا قبْرَ الغَريبِ
I departed—and here is the beloved’s resting place.
I departed, and here is the beloved’s resting place.
I traveled on, here lies the dwelling of the beloved
I have departed, while here remains the beloved's resting place,
Who, then, will weep for you, O grave of the stranger?
So who will mourn you, O grave of the stranger?
So who will weep for you, O grave of the stranger?
So who shall weep for you, O grave of the stranger?

سأحمِلُ من تُرابكَ في رِحالِي

لكي أغني بهِ عن كلِّ طيبِ
I shall carry some of your earth in my traveling bags,
I shall carry some of your earth in my baggage,
I will take some of your soil in my bags
I shall carry some of your dust within my saddlebags,
that through it I may have no need of any perfume.
so that with it I may dispense with every perfume.
That I may therewith replace all perfume.
To serve me in place of every fragrant perfume.
