واثَقتَها ما أَنقَضا
How treacherous is the world with which
How fickle is this life that has deceived me
How treacherous is the world that
you made a pact—how it breaks its vows!
I put my trust in it, but it did not last
You trusted—how it violates its pacts!

ظَهري أَنقَضا
When my son met his death,
When my son passed away, I grieved
When my son met his end,
my back creaked.
My back was broken
It broke my back.
