يَسبِقُنيoutstrips me لِذِكرِهِat the mention of him
يَسبِقُني لِذِكرِهِ
دَمعٌtears إِذاwhen غيضَwas made to subside وَثمdripped
دَمعٌ إِذا غيضَ وَثم
At the mention of him, I am outstripped
Racing ahead of me to his memory,
by tears that, when checked, drip anew.
Is a tear that pours forth just as it dries.
ياO قَبرَهُhis grave وَمَنزِليand my dwelling
يا قَبرَهُ وَمَنزِلي
حَسبيenough for me البُكاweeping هُناhere وَثُمand there
حَسبي البُكا هُنا وَثُم
O his grave and my dwelling,
O his grave, which is my dwelling too,
Weeping here and there is enough for me.
Weeping suffices me, both here and there.
