And a poet among the poets of the age
And a poet among the poets of the age
A poet of the age boasts to me
And a poet among the poets of the age,
boasts before me of his beautiful conceits;
boasts before me of his fine meanings;
Of the finest ideas that poetry can be
Who boasts to me of his exquisite themes;
وَإِنَّماand only أَطيَبُthe finest of أَشعارِهِhis verses
وَإِنَّما أَطيَبُ أَشعارِهِ
نِصفُhalf of خراسانَKhurasan أَوor القَيرَوانal-Qayrawan
نِصفُ خراسانَ أَو القَيرَوان
yet the finest of all his verses
yet the finest of his verses
Yet the sweetest of all his works
Yet truly, the very finest of his verses
is half of “Khorasan” or “Kairouan.”
is only half of Khurasan or al-Qayrawan.
Is but half of Khorasan or al-Qayrawan
Is but half of Khurasan or Kairouan.
