This is your father: he has concealed his grief.
This is your father, though his longing intensified
This is your father, who concealed his deep sorrow,
But his two eyes have betrayed him.
Yet his eyes, at the thought of him, teared up
Yet his eyes have betrayed his secret.

Do not marvel at the heat of his sigh.
Do not be surprised at the heat of his sigh
Do not marvel at the burning heat of his sighs,
He has spent summer and winter in the embers of the ghada shrub.
He has passed through burning embers, so he teared up
For he has spent both summer and winter upon the embers of Ghada.
