وَكَاتِبٍ ألفاظُهُ وَكُتبُهُ

وَكَاتِبٍ ألفاظُهُ وَكُتبُهُ

بَغِيضَةٌ إن خَطَّ أو تَكَلَّمَا

بَغِيضَةٌ إن خَطَّ أو تَكَلَّمَا

And there is a writer whose words and books

are loathsome, whether he writes or speaks.

تَرَى أُنَاساً يَتَمَنَّونَ العَمَى

تَرَى أُنَاساً يَتَمَنَّونَ العَمَى

وَآخَرِينَ يَحمَدُون الصَّمَمَا

وَآخَرِينَ يَحمَدُون الصَّمَمَا

You see people wishing for blindness,

and others praising deafness.
