A breeding ground of sins and mother of grave offenses,
its slightest faults exceed all counting.

Deeds that renewed the earth's adornment: its pebbles

Wishes lodged like a choking bone beneath the uvula,
so the man with an ailing chest must spit them out.

Should one like me be unmarked, obscure, and wasted,
like a keen sword wasted when its scabbard rusts it?

That cannot be, now that Time's unruliness has been tamed,
and its compact eased according to our wishes.

his outward manner is gratitude, his inward feeling love.

His fidelity distinguishes him from all others,
and his sincerity—for every beautiful woman is a Hind.
