بِاللَهِfor God's sake خُذtake مِنfrom حَياتيmy life
بِاللَهِ خُذ مِن حَياتي
يَوماًa day وَصِلنِيَand grant me union ساعَهan hour
يَوماً وَصِلنِيَ ساعَه
For God's sake, take from my life
By God, take from my life
a day, and grant me an hour of union,
A day, an hour in which to meet me,
كَيماso that أَنالَI may gain بِقَرضٍthrough a loan
كَيما أَنالَ بِقَرضٍ
ماwhat لَمdid not أَنَلI gain بِشَفاعَهthrough intercession
ما لَم أَنَل بِشَفاعَه
so that I may gain through a loan
So that by loan I may attain
what I did not gain through intercession.
What intercession could not grant me.
