أَغائِبَةًO absent one عَنّيfrom me وَحاضِرَةًand present مَعيwith me
أُناديكِI call to you لَمّاnow that عيلَhas been exhausted صَبرِيَmy patience فَاسمَعيso listen
O you who are absent from me yet present with me,
Absent from me, yet present with me,
I call to you, now that my patience is spent, so listen.
I call you when my patience has run out, so listen,
أَفيIs it in الحَقِّwhat is right أَنthat أَشقىI suffer بِحُبِّكِthrough loving you أَوor أُرىI am seen
حَريقاًburning بِأَنفاسيwith my breaths غَريقاًdrowning بِأَدمُعيin my tears
Is it right that I should suffer through loving you, or be seen
Is it right that I suffer from loving you or that I see
Burning with my breaths, drowning in my tears?
A fire with my breath, drowning in my tears?
أَلاIs there no عَطفَةٌtenderness تَحياmay live بِهاthrough it نَفسُthe soul عاشِقٍof a lover
جَعَلتِyou have placed الرَدىdeath مِنهُof him بِمَرأىًwithin sight وَمَسمَعِand hearing
Is there no tenderness to revive the soul of a lover
Oh, no kindness that brings to life the soul of a lover
For whom you have placed death within sight and hearing?
You have made rejection in plain view and hearing
صِلينِيَgrant me union بَعضَsome الوَصلِof union حَتّىuntil تَبَيَّنيyou discern
حَقيقَةَthe truth حاليof my condition ثُمَّthen ماشِئتِwhatever you wish فَاصنَعيthen do
Grant me a little union with you, until you discern
Connect me some association until you realize
The truth of my condition; then do whatever you wish.
The reality of my state, then do what you wish
