A stranger in the farthest East thanks the east wind
A stranger in the Far East thanks the morning breeze
for carrying his greeting to the West.
For bearing his greetings from there to the West

سَلامَ هَوىً يُهديهِ جِسمٌ إِلى قَلبِ
And what harm befell the breaths of the east wind in bearing
The morning breeze suffers no harm conveying
a greeting of love that a body sends to a heart?
A greeting of love from body to heart addressed
