قَدْ حَوَيْنَا كُلَّ مَا شَيْءٍ حَسَنْ

قَدْ حَوَيْنَا كُلَّ مَا شَيْءٍ حَسَنْ

بِحِِمَى مَوْلاَيَ عِيسَى بْنِ الْحَسَنْ

بِحِِمَى مَوْلاَيَ عِيسَى بْنِ الْحَسَنْ

We have gathered every beautiful thing

We have contained all things of beauty

We have gathered all that is beautiful and good,

in the sanctuary of my lord Isa ibn al-Hasan.

By the protection of my Master Isa son of Al-Hasan

Within the sanctuary of my master, Isa ibn al-Hasan;

فَاقْتَبَسْنَا النَُّورَ مِنْ وَجْهِ الْحَسَنْ

فَاقْتَبَسْنَا النَُّورَ مِنْ وَجْهِ الْحَسَنْ

وَأَكَلْنَا اللَّحْمَ وَالشَّهْدَ الْحَسَنْ

وَأَكَلْنَا اللَّحْمَ وَالشَّهْدَ الْحَسَنْ

So we drew light from al-Hasan’s face,

So we drew light from the face of Al-Hasan

Thus we drew light from his beautiful countenance,

and ate meat and fine honeycomb.

And we ate the meat and the sweet honey

And we partook of meat and the finest honey.

وَمَضَى الأُنْسُ لَنَا يَوْمَ مَضَى

وَمَضَى الأُنْسُ لَنَا يَوْمَ مَضَى

مَا لِيَوْمٍ فِي مَضَا عِنْدِي ثَمَنْ

مَا لِيَوْمٍ فِي مَضَا عِنْدِي ثَمَنْ

And a day passed for us in pleasant companionship—

And companionship passed for us the day it passed

Sweet companionship was ours on a day now passed,

no price can I put on that bygone day.

A day that passed for me has no price

A bygone day that, to me, is absolutely priceless;

هَطَلَتْ فِيهِ لَنَا سُحْبُ الْمُنَى

هَطَلَتْ فِيهِ لَنَا سُحْبُ الْمُنَى

إِذْ جَرَى النَّهْرُ بِأَنْوَاعِ الْمِنَنْ

إِذْ جَرَى النَّهْرُ بِأَنْوَاعِ الْمِنَنْ

The clouds of wishes poured down on us that day,

For it rained upon us the clouds of bliss

Wherein the clouds of our desires rained down upon us,

as the river flowed with every kind of bounty.

When the river flowed with all kinds of blessings

As the river flowed with all manner of blessings.
