عَلَيْهِupon him صَلاَةُblessing حَلِيمْthe Forbearing
عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ حَلِيمْ
صَلاَةًa blessing تُعِيدُrevives الرَّمِيمْthe crumbled remains
صَلاَةً تُعِيدُ الرَّمِيمْ
Upon him be the blessing of the Forbearing,
Prayer of the Forbearing upon him,
Upon him be the prayer of the Forbearing One,
a blessing that revives crumbled remains.
A prayer that restores the decayed.
A prayer that restores decayed bones to life,
وَأَبْهِجْand how delightful! بِذَاتِwith the bearer of الشَّمِيمْfragrance
وَأَبْهِجْ بِذَاتِ الشَّمِيمْ
صَلاَةِblessing الرَّقِيبِthe Watchful الشَّهِيدْthe Witness
صَلاَةِ الرَّقِيبِ الشَّهِيدْ
And how delightful is that fragrant blessing—
And delight with the All-Pervading Essence,
How delightful is its fragrant essence,
the blessing of the Watchful, the Witness!

عَلَيْهِupon him صَلاَةُblessing شَكُورْthe Appreciative
عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ شَكُورْ
تُبَعْثِرُscatters مَاwhat فِيin الْقُبُورْthe graves
تُبَعْثِرُ مَا فِي الْقُبُورْ
Upon him be the blessing of the Appreciative,
Upon him a prayer of the Grateful,
Upon him be the prayer of the Most Appreciative,
which scatters what is in the graves.
That scatters what is in the graves.
That resurrects what lies within the graves,
وَأَعْبِقْand how fragrant! بِذَاتِwith the bearer of النُّشُورْresurrection
وَأَعْبِقْ بِذَاتِ النُّشُورْ
صَلاَةًa blessing لِمُبْدِيof the Originator مُعِيدْthe Restorer
صَلاَةً لِمُبْدِي مُعِيدْ
And how fragrant is that resurrection-bearing blessing—
And exude with the Essence of Resurrection,
How sweet is the essence of its diffusion,
a blessing of the Originator, the Restorer!

عَلَيْهِupon him صَلاَةُblessing كَبِيرْthe Great
عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ كَبِيرْ
عَلَىover مَاwhatever يَشَاءُHe wills قَدِيرْpowerful
عَلَى مَا يَشَاءُ قَدِيرْ
Upon him be the blessing of the Great,
Upon him a prayer of the Greatest,
Upon him be the prayer of the Most Great,
who has power over whatever He wills.
Over all Powerful and Able.
Who is capable of whatever He wills,
وَأَعْظِمْand how great! بِذَاتِwith the bearer of الْعَبِيرْperfume
وَأَعْظِمْ بِذَاتِ الْعَبِيرْ
صَلاَةِblessing الْقَدِيرِthe All-Powerful الْمُرِيدْthe One who wills
صَلاَةِ الْقَدِيرِ الْمُرِيدْ
And how great is that perfume-laden blessing—
And exalt with the Fragrant Essence,
How magnificent is its perfumed ambergris,
the blessing of the All-Powerful, the One who wills!
The prayer of the Almighty Willful.
The prayer of the All-Powerful, the Determiner.
عَلَيْهِupon him صَلاَةُblessing رَؤُوفْthe Compassionate
عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ رَؤُوفْ
تُعَبِّيmarshals إِلَيْهِtoward him الصُّفُوفْthe ranks
تُعَبِّي إِلَيْهِ الصُّفُوفْ
Upon him be the blessing of the Compassionate,
Upon him a prayer of the Compassionate,
Upon him be the prayer of the Most Compassionate,
which marshals the ranks toward him.
That lines up rows unto Him.
That arrays the ranks toward Him,
وَأَكْرِمْand how noble! بِذَاتِwith the bearer of الشُّفُوفْsurpassing excellence
وَأَكْرِمْ بِذَاتِ الشُّفُوفْ
صَلاَةِblessing الذِيthe One who لاَdoes not يَبِيدْperish
صَلاَةِ الذِي لاَ يَبِيدْ
And how noble is that blessing of surpassing excellence—
And honor with the Essence of Ranked Rows,
How noble is its radiant distinction,
the blessing of Him who never perishes!
The prayer of the Eternal Everlasting.
The prayer of the One who never perishes.
عَلَيْهِupon him صَلاَةُblessing خَلِيقْworthy
عَلَيْهِ صَلاَةُ خَلِيقْ
بِكُلٍّof every كَمَالٍperfection عَتِيقْancient
بِكُلٍّ كَمَالٍ عَتِيقْ
Upon him be the blessing of One worthy
Upon him a prayer of the Perfect One,
Upon him be the prayer of the One worthy
of every perfection, the Ancient One.
With every ancient perfection.
Of every primordial perfection,
وَلاَand there is no مِثْلُequal ذَاتِthe bearer of الْخُلُوقْsaffron-based perfume
وَلاَ مِثْلُ ذَاتِ الْخُلُوقْ
صَلاَةِblessing الْحَلِيمِthe Forbearing الرَّشِيدْthe Wise Guide
صَلاَةِ الْحَلِيمِ الرَّشِيدْ
And nothing equals that perfumed blessing—
And none compares to the Essence of Creation,
And there is no equal to its fragrant blend,
the blessing of the Forbearing, the Wise Guide!
