هَذَا هِلاَلُ الْمَغْرِبِ

هَذَا هِلاَلُ الْمَغْرِبِ

هذَا مُجْلِي الْغَيْهَبِ

هذَا مُجْلِي الْغَيْهَبِ

This is the crescent of the Maghrib.

This is the crescent moon of the Maghreb

This is the crescent of the Maghreb,

This is the dispeller of deep darkness.

The one that makes the horizon glow

This is the dispeller of the profound darkness,

هذا الذِي أَنْوَارُه ُ

هذا الذِي أَنْوَارُه ُ

تَفُوقُ كلَّ كَوْكَبِ

تَفُوقُ كلَّ كَوْكَبِ

This is he whose lights

Whose light outshines every star

This is the one whose brilliant lights

outshine every star.

For one whose mother is this moon

Surpass every single star,

هذا الذِي مَنْ أمَّهُ

هذا الذِي مَنْ أمَّهُ

لاَ يَخْتَشِي مِنْ نُوَبِ

لاَ يَخْتَشِي مِنْ نُوَبِ

This is he: whoever seeks him

Will have no fear of misfortune

This is the one whom whoever seeks,

need fear no calamities.

One who visits this moon

Shall fear no looming calamities,

هذا الذِي منْ زَارَهُ

هذا الذِي منْ زَارَهُ

لَيْسَ يَرَى مِنْ تَعَبِ

لَيْسَ يَرَى مِنْ تَعَبِ

This is he: whoever visits him

Will feel no weariness

This is the one whom whoever visits,

experiences no weariness.

This is the moon of high rank

Shall witness no hardship nor fatigue,

هذَا رَفيعُ الرُّتَبِ

هذَا رَفيعُ الرُّتَبِ

هَذَا عَظيمُ الْمَنْصِبِ

هَذَا عَظيمُ الْمَنْصِبِ

This is he of lofty rank.

Of lofty status and position

This is the one of exalted ranks,

This is he of exalted station.

Of noble lineage and birth

This is the one of magnificent station,

هذا عَريقُ الْحَسَبِ

هذا عَريقُ الْحَسَبِ

هذا شَريفُ النَّسَبِ

هذا شَريفُ النَّسَبِ

This is he of deep-rooted ancestral honor.

Of honored descent and ancestry

This is the one of deep-rooted nobility,

This is he of noble lineage.

This is Al-Rida Idris the Perfect

This is the one of honorable lineage,

هذا الرِّضَى إِدْرِيسُ نَجْ

هذا الرِّضَى إِدْرِيسُ نَجْ

لُ الكامِلِالمُهَذَّبِ

لُ الكامِلِالمُهَذَّبِ

This is Idris, the well-pleasing one, offspring

Well-mannered and refined

This is the well-pleasing Idris, the son

of the perfect, refined one,

The sun of guidance, son of Hassan

Of the perfect and the refined,

شمْسِ الْهُدى ابْنِ حَسَنِ بْ

شمْسِ الْهُدى ابْنِ حَسَنِ بْ

نِ حَسَنِ الْمُنْتَخَبِ

نِ حَسَنِ الْمُنْتَخَبِ

the sun of guidance, son of Hasan, son

Son of chosen Hassan

The sun of guidance, son of Hasan, the son

of Hasan, the chosen one,

Son of Ali and Batul

Of Hasan, the chosen one,

اِبْنِ عَليٍّ وَالْبَتُو

اِبْنِ عَليٍّ وَالْبَتُو

لِ خَْيِر أُمٍّ وَأَبِ

لِ خَْيِر أُمٍّ وَأَبِ

son of Ali and al-Batul—

The best of mothers and fathers

The son of Ali and Al-Batul,

the finest mother and father—

Daughter of the chosen Prophet

The very best of mother and father,

بِنْتِ الرسُولِ المصْطَفَى

بِنْتِ الرسُولِ المصْطَفَى

الْمُجْتَبَى الْمُقَرَّبِ

الْمُجْتَبَى الْمُقَرَّبِ

daughter of the chosen Messenger,

The brought near, beloved

The daughter of the Messenger, Al-Mustafa,

the elect, the one brought near,

Muhammad, the most virtuous of creation

The Selected, the Brought Near to God,

مُحَمَّدٍ أَزْكَى الْوَرَى

مُحَمَّدٍ أَزْكَى الْوَرَى

مِنْ عَجَمٍ أَوْ عَرَبِ

مِنْ عَجَمٍ أَوْ عَرَبِ

Muhammad, purest of humankind,

Of Arabs and non-Arabs alike

Muhammad, the purest of all creation,

whether non-Arab or Arab.

May Allah shower him with blessings

Among both non-Arabs and Arabs,

صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ اللهُ مَا

صَلَّى عَلَيْهِ اللهُ مَا

لاَحَ ضِيَاءُ الشُّهُبِ

لاَحَ ضِيَاءُ الشُّهُبِ

May God bless him as long as

As long as the stars shine bright

May Allah send blessings upon him as long as

the light of shooting stars gleams,

And his family and companions

The radiant light of the shooting stars gleams,

وَآلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ

وَآلِهِ وَصَحْبِهِ

مِنْ كُلِّ لَيْثٍ مِحْرَبِ

مِنْ كُلِّ لَيْثٍ مِحْرَبِ

and his family and his companions,

Each valiant warrior

And upon his family and his companions,

each a lion fierce in battle.

From every fierce and valiant lion.
