lovelier and more dazzling

More dazzling and radiant

more radiant and dazzling

than any form.

Than any of its forms

than any image.

يُولِي النُّفُوسَا

يُولِي النُّفُوسَا

حُلَى ابْتِهَاجْ

حُلَى ابْتِهَاجْ

It bestows upon souls

It gladdens souls

Bestowing upon souls

adornments of joy.

With the joy of delight

the ornaments of joy,

حَاكَى الْكُؤُوسَا

حَاكَى الْكُؤُوسَا

بَعْدَ الْمِزَاجْ

بَعْدَ الْمِزَاجْ

It has imitated the cups

It mimics the cups

mimicking the wine cups

after the mixing.

After fermentation

after they are mixed,

يَفْرِي النُّحُوسَا

يَفْرِي النُّحُوسَا

فَرْيَ الدَّيَاجْ

فَرْيَ الدَّيَاجْ

It rends ill fortune

It chases away bad luck

cleaving through misfortunes

as it rends the darkness.

Like an impenetrable shield

like the cleaving of the dark.

اَللَّوْنُ أَنْضَرْ

اَللَّوْنُ أَنْضَرْ

يُولِيكَ نُورَهْ

يُولِيكَ نُورَهْ

The color is fresher,

The green color

The hue is most vibrant,

bestowing its light on you;

Grants you its light

granting you its light,

وَالنَّشْرُ أَعْطَرْ

وَالنَّشْرُ أَعْطَرْ

يَفْنِي الضَّرُورَهْ

يَفْنِي الضَّرُورَهْ

and the scent is more fragrant,

And the blossoming is more fragrant

and the fragrance is sweetest,

banishing hardship.

It eliminates hardship

eradicating distress.

يَا مَنْ أَذَاهُ

يَا مَنْ أَذَاهُ

هَمُّ الْمَدِينَهْ

هَمُّ الْمَدِينَهْ

O you who have been hurt

O you who are troubled

O you who are troubled

by the city's cares,

By the concerns of the city

by the worries of the city,

عُجْ بِرُبَاهُ

عُجْ بِرُبَاهُ

وَاقْطِفْ فُنُونَهْ

وَاقْطِفْ فُنُونَهْ

turn aside to its hills

Come to your Lord

turn your path to its hills

and pluck its branches;

And pick His arts

and pluck its varied branches,

فَفِي شَذَاهُ

فَفِي شَذَاهُ

حَسْمُ الْعُفُونَهْ

حَسْمُ الْعُفُونَهْ

for in its fragrance

For in His fragrance

for within its scent

lies the eradication of decay.

Is the remedy for diseases

is the cure for all foulness.

اَللَّهُ أَكْبَرْ

اَللَّهُ أَكْبَرْ

مُذْكِي بُخُورَهْ

مُذْكِي بُخُورَهْ

God is greatest!

God is the Greatest

God is most great,

What kindles its incense

Kindling its incense

He who kindles its incense!

حُسْنٌ مُحَبَّرْ

حُسْنٌ مُحَبَّرْ

لِِمْ لاَ تَزُورَهْ

is richly adorned beauty;

A goodness perfumed

A perfected beauty—

why do you not visit it?

عَرِّجْ عَلَيْهِ

عِنْدَ الصَّبَاحِ

Turn aside to it

وَانْهَضْ إِلَيْهِ

مَعَ الصِّبَاحِ

and set out toward it

And rise to it

with the fair-faced ones;

With the morning

with radiant companions;

تَجِدْ لَدَيْهِ

تَجِدْ لَدَيْهِ

أَصْلَ النَّجَاحِ

you will find in its presence
