أَأَهْلَ سَلاَ أَهْلَ السُّلُوِّ عَنِ الْبُخْلِ

أَأَهْلَ سَلاَ أَهْلَ السُّلُوِّ عَنِ الْبُخْلِ

سَلِمْتُمْ وَدُمْتُمْ فِي مُسَالَمَةِ الْمَحْلِ

سَلِمْتُمْ وَدُمْتُمْ فِي مُسَالَمَةِ الْمَحْلِ

O people of Salé, people who have forgotten miserliness,

Do I ask the people of peace about stinginess?

O people of Salé, a people who have forsaken all stinginess,

May you be safe and ever at peace with drought.

You are safe and remain in the peace of the land,

May you stay safe, forever secure from the ravages of drought,

خُصُوصاً بِهَا أَهْلَ الرِّبَاطِ فَإِنَّهُمْ

خُصُوصاً بِهَا أَهْلَ الرِّبَاطِ فَإِنَّهُمْ

أُنَاسٌ يُنَسِّي أُنْسُهُمْ عَطْفَةَ الأَهْلِ

أُنَاسٌ يُنَسِّي أُنْسُهُمْ عَطْفَةَ الأَهْلِ

Especially the people of Rabat there, for they

Especially those of you in the fortresses, for you

And especially the people of Rabat, for indeed they are

Are people whose companionship makes one forget the affection of family.

Are people whose company makes one forget the warmth of relatives.

A people whose warm companionship makes one forget the embrace of family;

يُدَاوُونَ أَدْوَاءَ النَّوَى بِنَوَالِهِمْ

يُدَاوُونَ أَدْوَاءَ النَّوَى بِنَوَالِهِمْ

وَيَسْقُونَ عَافِيهِمْ بِآنِيَةِ الْفَضْلِ

وَيَسْقُونَ عَافِيهِمْ بِآنِيَةِ الْفَضْلِ

They heal the ailments of separation with their gifts,

They cure the illnesses of purpose with their generosity,

They cure the maladies of exile with their generous bounty,

And give their supplicants drink from vessels of bounty.

And quench the thirst of the healthy with the vessel of nobility.

And they quench the thirst of those who seek them from the vessels of grace.
