O my Lord, O Possessor of glory,
O Lord, whence comes strength?
O Lord, Possessor of Might!
O One who gives creation His glory to drink,
Who waters the flowers with strength?
O He who pours out might upon creation,

And sorrow's spear has pierced him,
And the spear of sorrow has wounded him,
And the spear of sorrow has pierced him,
and its thrust has laid his heart low.
So it cast down his heart with wounds.
And its piercing has destroyed his heart.
