يَا مُجْلِي الْكُرُوبَ بِالإِينَاسِ
O brother of virtue, O Abu al-Abbas,
O brother of virtue, O father of al-‘Abbas
O brother of grace, O Abu Al-Abbas,
O dispeller of sorrows through comforting company,
O dispeller of sorrows with kindness
O dispeller of sorrows through warm companionship,
مَاwhat عَلَىupon مَنْone who أَتَاكُمْcame to you مِنْfrom فَاسِFez

أَنْ يَرَاكُمْ فَتَنْتَشِي مِنْ بَاسِ
What harm is there for one who came to you from Fez
Whoever comes to you from Fas
What blame falls on one who comes to you from Fez,
In seeing you, so that you revive from distress?
Will see you and be rid of troubles
To behold you, and thus be elated after distress?
