أَسْعدَكَmay He gladden you اللهُGod بِالْوَلَدْwith the child
أَسْعدَكَ اللهُ بِالْوَلَدْ
يَاO أَيُّهَاyou (vocative) السَّيِّدُthe master السَّنَدْthe mainstay
يَا أَيُّهَا السَّيِّدُ السَّنَدْ
May God gladden you with the child,
May God bring you bliss with a son,
May God grant you happiness through this child,
O master, the pillar of support.
O you, the pillar of support.
O noble master and steadfast pillar,
عَرَّفَكَmay He acquaint you اللهُGod يِمَنِّهِhis blessing
عَرَّفَكَ اللهُ يِمَنِّهِ
مُكَثِّراًmultiplying لَكُمُfor you (plural) الْمَدَدْthe aid
مُكَثِّراً لَكُمُ الْمَدَدْ
May God acquaint you with the blessing he brings,
May God make you recognize His graces,
May God acquaint you with His favor,
Multiplying the aid granted to you.
Increasing for you assistance,
Multiplying the blessings bestowed upon you,
وَنِلْتًمُand may you (plural) attain خَيْرَthe good of ذَاthis الْبَلَدْthe land
وَنِلْتًمُ خَيْرَ ذَا الْبَلَدْ
بِوَالِدٍby a father مَعْtogether with مَاwhat وَلَدْhe begot
بِوَالِدٍ مَعْ مَا وَلَدْ
And may you attain the good of this land,
And you obtained the best of this land,
And may you attain the very best of this land,
By a father, together with what he begot.
With a father despite what he begot.
For the father alongside the child he has begotten.
