إِنَّindeed يَوْمَthe day الْفِرَاقِof parting أَحْرَقَburned قَلْبِيmy heart
إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفِرَاقِ أَحْرَقَ قَلْبِي
وَكَوَانِيand seared me الْفِرَاقُparting بِالنَّارِwith fire كَيَّاa searing
وَكَوَانِي الْفِرَاقُ بِالنَّارِ كَيَّا
Indeed, the day of parting burned my heart.
The day we parted burned my heart
Indeed, the day of separation has burned my heart,
And parting seared me with fire.
And separation seared me with fire's flame
And separation has seared me with a fiery brand.
إِنْif قَضَىdecrees اللهُGod بَيْنَنَاbetween us بِاجْتِمَاعٍwith a reunion
إِنْ قَضَى اللهُ بَيْنَنَا بِاجْتِمَاعٍ
لاَnever ذَكَرْتُI shall mention الْفِرَاقَparting مَاas long as دُمْتُI remain حَيَّاalive
لاَ ذَكَرْتُ الْفِرَاقَ مَا دُمْتُ حَيَّا
If God decrees a reunion between us,
If God decrees we reunite again
Should God decree a reunion between us,
I shall never mention parting as long as I live.
I'll forget our parting, as long as I live
I shall never speak of separation as long as I live.
